Content Guidelines

The Blue Onboard™ system can deliver several different types of content directly to passengers' mobile phones. We recommend that you send out images (wallpapers) for your campaigns, as these will be compatible with the largest number of handsets. Animated GIFs allow you to relay the most information, with a more interesting presentation than a simple single image.

If you want to deliver other types of content, such as audio files and video clips, we recommend that you put a text call-to-action on one of the wallpaper frames to download the file. This then gives the user the option as to whether they want it on their phone or not. We can provide text and mobile content delivery services as an option for your campaign.

We can prepare your campaign content for you for a small fee, however, should you wish to create your own files, then we have provided some guidelines below to help you.

Images

Images files are ideal for sending text-based messages, which can have multiple frames, pictures and branding. Use images also for sending money-off vouchers or free entry coupons - in fact anything that replaces paper!

Formats: JPEG or GIF, or Animated GIFs
Dimensions: 176 pixels wide by 220 pixels high
Max File Size: 100kb

Audio

Use audio to send ringtones or full music tracks to the phone. You can also use these for spoken messages, for example from a celebrity.

Formats: MP3
Codec: Constant Bit Rate, 24Kbps
Max File Size: 200kb - or 800Kb for file downloads

Video

Use video to send visual clips such as movie trailers or visual product presentations, for example.

Formats: 3GP, MP4
Codec: 12fps
Max File Size: 200kb - or 1Mb for file download

Content Preparation Rates

These are our rates if you want us to create and prepare your content files for you:

Image Creation: From £25 (for a two frame animation)

Audio Preparation: From £50 (for up to 5 minutes of audio)

Video Preparation: From £100 (for up to a 2 minute clip)
